How Can I Nourish My Spirit Today?
So often (especially during the holidays!) we forget that the real source of happiness and fulfillment stems from nourishing ourselves from the inside-out. What does this really mean? Well, to me, it means that I not only pay attention, but actively engage in self nurturing activities that generate feelings of spiritual awakening, connection, and well being. This can be anything from recognizing my blessings every morning when I wake up "? to having compassion and forgiveness for myself each day. Anything I can do to cultivate feelings of self love and acceptance always reveal phenomenal rewards. The same can happen for you. Asking ourselves in each moment, is what I'm choosing to engage in serving to nourish my spirit? Is this decision, action, thought, or pattern of responding serving to enhance my feelings of worthiness and self acceptance?
From my experience it seems that the more we actively engage in loving ourselves just as we are in this moment, the more we allow ourselves to experience, feel, and acknowledge all the gifts available to us in each day. The concept of self love and self worth are so closely intertwined, and the level of each of these elements determines not only what we expect to experience, but what we draw into and create in our experience. Our beliefs mirror our perception of ourselves and the world. We can clearly see what our beliefs are by looking around us. Our home, our relationships, the level of conflict, our level of "success," our level of happiness, and our level of overall fulfillment is an accurate representation of what we believe we deserve. Those beliefs have served to manifest the circumstances of our life experience. This can serve as a massive wake-up call for us. We choose our beliefs, and if they aren't serving us, we can change them. In doing so, we will change our life experience.
When we nourish our spirit and choose inner peace, we feel safe and secure and view the world as a safe and secure place. So, how do we reach that state of being when the majority of us struggle with loving and accepting ourselves? It simply requires a decision on our part to focus on this very moment and see ourselves as a beautiful souls in a constant state of growth and expansion on this incredibly journey called life. We must actively choose to have compassion for ourselves.
No good can come from replaying the past and crucifying ourselves or others for choices that were already made, unless it serves to bring awareness, acceptance, and peace into our hearts. The past is done. Today is a new day and change can happen in an instant. Change simply requires a shift in our focus, our perception, and our willingness to broaden our perspective and our vision of ourselves and the world around us. Life is as beautiful as we allow it to be. We deserve to experience the fullness of this journey and all the bliss, joy, love, and success that is available to us. Cultivating feelings of worthiness is one of the most worthwhile activities we can engage in each day.
When I choose to make a commitment to myself and choose to love and accept myself just as I am in this moment, life flows in awe-inspiring ways. Doors open, opportunities appear, and my life is lived with a sense of grace, ease, and fulfillment. This all stems from my willingness to tap into my heart center and live from that place. When I consciously choose to live from the heart and live with compassion for myself and others, I am constantly amazed at the blessings that magically appear before my eyes.
Our perspective, our perception, and our connection with the deepest aspect of ourselves is the real determining factor in the quality of our life experience. For myself, I choose to experience the highest quality of life possible. It's available to us all. To actively experience this, a daily decision to nourish ourselves from the inside-out is required. It is a necessary component to living a fulfilled, joy-full life.
My wish for you today and throughout the holiday season is that you will begin to cultivate feelings of self love and acceptance and nurture the beautiful spirit that you are.
With love and gratitude,
Cari Murphy
