"Hello to Me with Love" - Align with the "12"
2012 is the year for transformation and shifts in the way we do business - in our personal life and in our public life. This title, taken from the name of the book from which the following poem was borrowed, reminds us of our purpose - it's time to love ourselves again; to put our own needs at the top of the priority list so that by healing the hurt and pain and anguish of disconnection from our authentic selves, we can feel whole and true on the inside.
The title represents the "12" energy of the year, as it energizes (Sabian 84) "Carefree children skating on ice." This image reminds us that we have been skating just on the surface of our true selves for a long time. Though things seem to be "flowing", have we really done enough to reap the benefits of our authentic gifts and talents? Have we remembered to enjoy this time in our lives like the children playing - letting go of worries? It's time to say "hello" to our deepest desires and allow ourselves to emerge in childlike fun.
In fact the heart and personality (42/42) of "Hello to me with Love" tells us to do just that. We need to start doing things "just for fun" in the spirit of "gratitude" and "thankfulness," and be "reunited" in love with ourselves! These (42) words perfectly balance the energy of the (6) Lovers archetype. So, In 2012, we are facing the fact that the time has come for "a journey of self discovery." (112)
The (112) represents a time of "opportunity" (11) to explore our "inner values" (2). It's time to come face to face with ourselves. The Sabian symbol of the (112) shows "a young woman waiting for her sailboat." Are you still waiting for your ship to come in? Well the (112) reminds us to "stop blocking your blessings." "The future is a clean slate."
I can testify to the power of the 2012 alignment to self discovery. I lost my home and my job this past year in a shocking and unexpected upheaval from my former life. Why? Because the journey of the (112) energy said: Now is "a time for new beginnings." I had to "change my perspectives" - the Hanged Man (12) at work - and view my future in a new way. The universe colluded together and told me in no uncertain terms, "take back control of your life."
And what a blessing that upheaval was for me. Now don't get it misunderstood. It was a shocking and painful turn of events. But in return, I was rewarded with a new life, starting from "scratch", and awarded my FREEDOM! And freedom is a hallmark of the 2012 Hierophant (5) energy.
Change can be difficult, and it's easy to try to put off making changes, but this new shift in consciousness is not going away. We must be proactive and take charge of the changes in our life. Pain is a natural part of growth, and as we explore the opportunity to say hello to ourselves again, I wanted to share this uplifting poem by a dear friend and colleague. This poem reminds us that even in the face of hardship, even our pain will be pretty because we are open to the truth of ourselves and we will be the better for it!
"Even My Pain's Gonna Be Pretty"
by C. Tillery Banks
No more ugly days for me
the sun shine always
and the rain is sweet and cleansing
washing my gutters clean
cloudy days will be soft and hazy
not blue or lonely
problems will only be challenges
and sickness will just be a signal to listen
Even My Pain's Gonna Be Pretty
disappointment will be growth
because it will teach me
to choose more carefully
delays will be lesson in patience
because I know everything comes in time
on time
even when I'm late
I'll be on time
there is no loss
if anything goes
I gave it away
and blessed whoever got it
Even My Pain's Gonna Be Pretty.
closed doors are wrong paths
jammed doors will be opened
since I will learn the truth
I will not be tired
only resting
no mistakes
only lessons
and growth
and change
movement
Joy. Joy. Joy!
Even My Pain's Gonna Be Pretty.
Glory. Glory. Glory
Even My Pain's Gonna Be Pretty
