Many decades ago, as I worked as a nurse alongside a well known retinal specialist at Stanford, I believed that illness was a result of genetics as well as lifestyle choices. I also believed that healing was a result of proper medical diagnosis and medical intervention.
So many years of life later, and after so many years of being a part of the ever shifting attitudes about what constitutes wellness and what influences healing, I find myself holding a much different perspective.
Is it possible that healing, or not, is a choice we make? How much do our thoughts, beliefs and attitudes influence our overall well being? Do we, ultimately, have the final say in our destiny with regard to our bodies, our minds and our spirits?
I believe we 'do' control our outcomes, and we 'can' influence our physical and mental states of being by our ideas, beliefs and thoughts. Seeing yourself in higher states of 'being' does produce a trickle down effect that translates to better health as well as opening you up to transforming.
During an interview I conducted my guest explained that the energy that comprises everything about who and what we are is present constantly, and is there ready for us to tap into it's divine perfection to rebalance and correct anything that may be 'out of balance' in any of our 'parts'. Remember that cells that make up our vital organs are always reproducing, in an effort to repair and return to it's perfect state. This happens energetically in an instant. Imagine if you would, the you have the power to control or accept this divine energy and all of it's ability to rebalance. Now imagine you are accepting the clean and rebalanced energy and letting go of the imbalanced and imperfect energy. If, in fact, everything IS energy, then there 'is' no reason why we cannot be in control of correcting our own out of whack energy.
If this is true, then why are so many people ill, or depressed, or troubled at all by any aches and pains? Perhaps it is because in our minds we are dedicated to holding onto an IDEA that we ARE ill, or out of balance, or have pains and aches. Perhaps we wake up everyday REMEMBERING WE HAVE A SORE KNEE, OR ARTHRITUS, OR CANCER, OR WERE WOUNDED BY A DIVORCE.....
Each and everyday, each and every minute, is an opportunity for you to hook up to that every present flow of perfect energy and exchange your old, worn out, out of balanced whatever for something better. Imagine you have a clean, blank canvas sitting in front of you as you wake up everyday. What would you design and put on that canvas? If you had a past experience that was painful or upsetting, would you bring it back into the forfront of your memory TODAY, THIS MINUTE and reapply it to your canvas? How would this serve you?
Do you think it's possible to step, instead, into the possibility that you, and you alone, have the ability to wipe any slate clean, dissolve any past experiences with the blink of an eye, CHOOSE to let GO of anything that doesn't serve you?
I know people who believe they are destine to the same physics as past relatives. If grandmother had arthritus in her hands, well, so will they. If cancer and heart disease were a state of physics in many relatives, well they figure it's only a matter of time before they too are diagnosed with something similar.
Is this any way to approach your health? Is this how you respond to being offered the most powerful tool in the Universe?
Is healing a choice? I think so. Pehaps not one that is often made by most people, but it certainly is up to you to accept or decline the power given to you.
Believe in yourself. Believe in your power to 'be' and feel well.
