clearing the decks/cleaning up your energy field: shower and cheese cloth exercise

 

Throughout our day, we pick up a variety of energetic transferences that run the gambit of emotions.  Unwittingly, they, ‘stick’ to our auric fields, and we might feel their effects as fatigue, exhaustion or even mild depression.  Simply being aware of this, and knowing you have a tool to use to clean yourself up and bring your voice back to its’ proper place,( which would be front and center)  is very helpful and requires but a moment to achieve. 

 

Imagine yourself standing in a shower with the water running.  Covering your body is a brownish film of somewhat sticky dirt.  The film of sticky dirt is a metaphor for the energetic information you have picked up from others’ throughout the day.  Begin to wash away the brownish film, making sure to scrub down all parts of your body, and watch it gently flow down and out the drain.  When you feel you are squeaky clean, visualize the water changing to a brilliant white light, flowing down and around you.  Begin to fill yourself up from the inside out with this beautiful light, so that your body becomes as brilliant as the light is.  You can even move this light out into the room if you wish, or through your home, garden, or further to the world as you become more and more comfortable with this exercise.

 

Another form of this exercise is to visualize a large, golden light-filled cheese cloth.  It is filled with love, light and energetic balance.  Begin at your feet, and gently envision the cloth move up through your body, every particle and atom of all that you are, catching any energetic information that does not resonate perfectly with your unique system.  Do not rush this.  Make sure to bring the cheese cloth all the way through the top of your head.  Turn it over, and do the same action, bringing it down from your crown chakra all the way through the soles of your feet.  From here, you can let it release into Mother Earth to be renewed and transformed, or you can run the cloth up once more through your body, and release the energy to the sun, seeing it purified as fire-works over your head.

 

*this exercise can be done throughout the day on an as-needed basis.  I highly recommend this prior to falling asleep at night.   Children especially can benefit from this exercise.

 

**Examples of when this exercise would be helpful

Before starting your day, after phone conversations, lunch and dinner dates, after being in your car, or while in your car at a traffic light, prior and after any type of meeting, challenging emotions that come up throughout your day, before bed.
